Join GEICO as a Senior Engineer to build high‑performance, low‑latency platforms and applications that transform our insurance business.
Base pay range:
$100,000.00/yr – $215,000.00/yr
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced engineer with a passion for scaling systems and crafting user‑centered solutions.
Position Responsibilities
Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems across front‑end and back‑end layers.
Engage in cross‑functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
Lead design sessions and code reviews to raise engineering quality.
Define and support reusable application components and patterns.
Utilize Java, C#, Python or other object‑oriented languages, SQL/NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure services.
Mentor peers and share best practices.
Continuously improve processes and tooling.
Qualifications
Advanced experience with Java, C#/.NET, HTML‑5, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular/React, XML, JSON, RESTful web services.
Experience with an additional modern language such as Python and open‑source software.
Proficient in .NET framework, SQL Server, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and REST.
Full‑stack development experience and familiarity with microservices and API‑first design.
Architecting and designing new and existing systems.
Strong monitoring, security, and continuous delivery skills.
Ability to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience
5+ years of professional software development in .NET or Java.
4+ years of architecture and design experience.
4+ years with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud platform.
2+ years in open‑source frameworks.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
