Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU float pool position with night shifts and multi-facility float requirements.
Responsibilities
Work in a Clinical Support Unit (ICU float pool) across multiple acute care hospital settings
Covers ICU units at Boise, Meridian, and Nampa facilities, floating only within critical care specialty
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio in ICU is 1:1-2
Requires use of EpicCare Inpatient EMR
Night shift schedule (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), weekends as needed
Float to other units within specialty or serve as 1:1 sitter in any area as needed, including mid-shift floating
Assignments and hospitals are provided via app one hour prior to shift, all facilities within a 20-minute drive
Orientation includes a meet-and-greet plus three inpatient orientation shifts
ICU float pool RNs may cover assignments in any critical care unit at three facilities and never float to lower acuity units
Charge nurse present on all units; robust leadership team provides support 24/7
Nursing assistants and patient care techs provide additional support, with variable ratios depending on unit and day
No on-call requirements; blocking scheduling and special requests are not accepted
Professional appearance required; no specific scrub color mandated
Holiday coverage may be required as needed
Must be away from any previous permanent position at these facilities for at least one year before travel assignment
Requirements
Active Idaho or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
Previous travel nursing experience required
Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
Ability to titrate drips as needed for ICU settings
Experience with Epic EMR preferred
Driver's license required for consideration
Must provide two references: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from assigned hospitals
