Base pay range

$118,300.00/yr - $207,100.00/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead water, wastewater, and/or stormwater planning, modeling, and design development services for a variety of related projects.
  • Perform specialized design development and hydraulic modeling assignments for water conveyance and management systems of varied sizes, configurations, and capacities.
  • Coordinate with other project disciplines, mentor and direct early‑career engineering staff, and conduct occasional field activities such as site assessment, data collection, analysis, documentation, and construction support.
  • Serve as technical subject‑matter expert, task lead, design manager, or project‑management role performing and leading technical tasks, quality control, and resource coordination across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Contribute to client engagement, development, and professional‑services marketing, sales, and business‑development pursuits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or other applicable engineering disciplines.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Minimum of eight years of progressive engineering experience in water system and infrastructure related disciplines, hydraulic evaluations, and design (water resources, stormwater, drainage, drinking water, and/or wastewater).
  • Core technical hydraulic and/or hydrologic model development, calibration, and evaluation experience using at least three of the listed modeling software packages (InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM/InfoSewer, SewerGEMs, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, Mike Urban/Mike+, EPASWMM, EPASSOAP, InfoWaterPro, WaterGEMs, EPANet, Optimizer, ArcGIS) in the planning and analysis of water or wastewater systems.
  • Varied and progressive experience developing, planning, advancing, and delivering engineering modeling studies and associated technical reports and presentations.
  • Familiarity and experience with typical and related system master planning approaches, technical and industry standards, regulations, and requirements.
  • Foundational experience with MS Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and with technical writing, editing, and presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience working and collaborating effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams, both internally and with external and client partners, to accomplish complex engineering, planning, and design assignments.
  • Attention to detail, quality, and a demonstrated ability to communicate, collaborate, and self‑manage focus and engagements to deliver effectively on project and production delivery commitments and requirements with minimal oversight.

Desired

  • Up to twelve or more years of engineering experience in water related disciplines.
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Design and/or project management experience.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and programming (Python scripting for GIS and Visual Basic for Excel).

Benefits and Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $118,300.00 to $207,100.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Employees have access to medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discount. Eligible employees may also enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan. Jacobs has an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full‑time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, one floating holiday, and caregiver leave. Certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.
