As Chief Architect, Director for Government and Public Sector, you will accelerate the expansion of GPS market opportunities by co‑creating technology‑powered solutions while ensuring all architectural facets—enterprise, solution, application, data, infrastructure, security, and integration—meet the highest standards of scalability, interoperability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Align GPS architecture with enterprise standards, ensuring technology solutions are scalable, interoperable, and secure.
Design and implement robust application frameworks, selecting components that meet business and technical requirements.
Define and maintain data models, governance practices, and integration strategies to support analytics, reporting, and operational needs.
Architect resilient and cost‑effective infrastructure solutions (on‑premises, cloud, or hybrid) for GPS offerings.
Develop and execute an Enclave liaison strategy to accelerate practice use of Enclave and increase revenue streams.
Engage key decision‑makers, stakeholders, and influencers to accelerate adoption of Enclave capabilities.
Integrate comprehensive security architecture and compliance measures, protecting sensitive data and ensuring regulatory alignment.
Facilitate seamless integration between GPS systems, third‑party solutions, and partner platforms for end‑to‑end business processes.
Promote DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation across solution delivery to drive efficiency, quality, and agility.
Continuously evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies—AI, machine learning, IoT, blockchain—to create competitive advantage.
Establish and enforce architectural governance, standards, and best practices across the GPS landscape.
Analyze technical business solutions using Enclave, converting them into effective designs that address client or business needs with reliable, competitive cost structures.
Deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential Enclave users, demonstrating the value of compliant cloud hosting solutions.
Work with GPS contract teams and other EY stakeholders on pattern development, leading our efforts around CAS‑compliant Enclave offerings.
Maintain an active awareness of the technology space and EY’s Alliance network, supporting evolution of the Enclave Architecture team for GPS needs.
Build strong relationships with Enclave leaders to identify opportunities for optimizing platform solutions in collaboration with the Enclave Delivery Product Management team.
Skills and Attributes for Success
Strong technical background in solution development and design, data architecture, and security architecture.
Familiarity with TOGAF, Zachman, or similar frameworks for architectural governance and strategy.
Experience integrating AI/ML, automation, blockchain, or other emerging technologies into enterprise solutions.
Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure SDLC in cloud, on‑premise, and air‑gapped environments.
Ability to define cost‑effective architecture patterns and manage solution budgets, especially for RFP responses.
Strong understanding of cloud hosting technologies—including Government Cloud compliance requirements.
Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, expanding market opportunities, and accelerating business outcomes.
Familiarity with RFP and RFI processes, and ability to assess and respond with recommended technology solutions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, effectively translating technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Strong relationship‑building and networking abilities to engage key decision‑makers.
Proven experience managing and collaborating with technical teams such as Solution Architects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
10‑15 years of experience in technology solution design.
Ability to obtain and maintain Top‑Secret clearance.
Experience with cloud environments (Azure preferred).
Experience establishing and enforcing architectural standards and review boards.
Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams (business, security, infrastructure, application) to align on architecture decisions.
Preferred (Ideally)
Self‑motivated, proactive, results‑driven, able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Master’s degree preferred (information technology, computer science, engineering).
Professional services experience.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Understanding of government procurement processes and regulations is a plus.

Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, with base salary range of $214,300–$424,300 for U.S. locations (adjusted for specific metro areas). Total Rewards includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
