Job Description The Oncology Legal Business Partner is an office‑based/hybrid role located in Foster City, California reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Oncology. The role is responsible for providing legal support in relation to the development and commercialization of Gilead's Oncology portfolio and other investigational assets.

Primary clients include personnel in Commercial, Medical, Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Finance and Regulatory. The Legal Business Partner team works closely with Compliance, Privacy, US Pricing & Access, Competition Law, Regulatory and other groups to ensure the compliant commercialization of our products. The attorney collaborates with attorneys in International Legal, Pricing and Access, Competition Law, Intellectual Property and other legal functions. The oncology attorney provides legal input into U.S. commercial strategies and tactics, drives alignment and consistency across different functions and the broader U.S. Legal Business Partner team, and is directly responsible for legal support for U.S. activities.

Other responsibilities include oversight of communications about our products, interactions with stakeholders such as healthcare professionals, patients, patient organizations, charitable organizations and third parties retained by our business, and assistance with and/or input into compliance policies. The role requires the ability to identify, communicate, coordinate and manage various issues, projects and initiatives simultaneously and across geographies and cultures; proactively engage stakeholders and advise on legal issues to reach timely resolutions.

Basic Qualifications

Juris Doctorate from a nationally accredited law school.

Admission to the California state bar, registration as in‑house counsel, or ability to gain admission or registration within 90 days.

6+ years prior in‑house or law firm experience providing legal counsel on the laws and regulations relating to drugs or devices, demonstrating growth and ability to succeed.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Detail‑oriented and well‑organized.

Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is: $226,185.00 – $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock‑based long‑term incentives (eligibility may vary by role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision and life insurance plans.
