Acquisitions, Customer Management & Segments (ACMS)

is an organization within Card Technology. We manage the platform responsible for acquisitions which includes our pre-approved offer and counter-offer user journeys; and the Customer Management systems that our customers use after they open an account with Capital One. We also manage several products across various segments of the Capital One business. An example is the CreditWise App that gives you 24/7 access to your free credit score and protects your data with biometrics and two-factor authentication. We also manage the Secured Card product that provides a path to build your credit through the use of refundable security deposits. As a

Senior Director of Technical Program Management

( TPM ) on Capital One’s

Enterprise Product & Platform organization , you will help us build solid platforms on mobile and web surfaces that will help Capital One customers have incredible experiences. The platforms are the foundational blocks on which Capital One’s various lines of businesses (like credit card, retail banking, auto finance) build delightful experiences for our customers. In addition to the technical program, you will also work to pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team, by leveraging your industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve. Responsibilities

Lead technical program management for large-scale platform initiatives across card tech platforms. Build and guide a world-class TPM team focused on real-time, intelligent experiences for customers and associates. Lead technology-focused discussions with senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations that guide technology decisions. Ensure strong execution, accountability, and delivery of business impact across product, engineering, design, and data science partners. Foster cross-team collaboration across functions and reporting boundaries. Simplify technically complex problems to enable well-educated decisions. Our TPM Sr. Directors have:

Strong technical backgrounds (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life-cycle Experience building and leading a world-class team of technical program managers with a mission to power real-time, intelligent experiences for our customers and associates Lead technology focused discussions with senior leadership by providing valuable insights and recommendations that guide technology-based decisions Exceptional communication and collaboration skills Excellent problem solving and influencing skills A quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer to holistic solutions; a systems thinker Experienced TPM leader to grow and develop a team of TPMs, while also building the foundations for the TPM practice Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results Exceptional cross-team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done. Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partners Basic Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree At least 9 years of experience managing technical programs Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) MBA or Master’s Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience 9+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing 5+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture - preferably using AWS 5+ years of building & leading experienced TPM team 5+ years experience building highly scalable mobile products & platforms 5+ years of experience with Agile delivery 5+ years years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact 3+ years of experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment This role is not sponsoring for employment authorization at this time. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. This information is for candidates hired to perform work within listed locations. Chicago, IL: $240,300 - $274,300 for Sr. Director, Technical Program Management McLean, VA: $264,300 - $301,700 for Sr. Director, Technical Program Management New York, NY: $288,400 - $329,100 for Sr. Director, Technical Program Management Richmond, VA: $240,300 - $274,300 for Sr. Director, Technical Program Management Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. The actual annualized salary amount offered will be reflected solely in the offer letter. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
