Description
AWS Hardware Engineering is looking for a senior leader to deliver development, implementation, and reliability for our accelerated GPU offerings in AWS. In this role, you will lead your team to deliver novel hardware designs from inception, through manufacturing, implementation, maturation, and eventually deprecation. You will be responsible for planning ahead to avoid hardware defects, and driving any problems to zero. You will lead a team of skilled hardware engineers and technical program managers, manage ODMs, and work with internal stakeholders. In this role, you will define implementation strategy and report status frequently to senior leadership. Your work will directly enable Amazon customers to deliver AI‑related offerings and research.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience managing multi‑discipline hardware development teams.
Technical experience in compute and/or storage systems design, deployment and production operations.
Hands‑on experience designing, developing and operationally supporting high volume enterprise servers.
Hands‑on experience with system‑level analysis.
Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Proven analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with CM/OEM/ODM vendors for design development and manufacturing.
Knowledge of data‑center infrastructure constraints including networking, power, space, and cooling.
Proven success using written communications to influence product strategy.
Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
High attention to detail, precise and effective customer communications, and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

Compensation and Benefits
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $187,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $336,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
