AWS EC2 owns the design, planning, delivery and operation of all AWS server instances. We support all AWS compute, storage, accelerator servers and ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team to deliver best‑in‑class performance of novel hardware designs from inception, through manufacturing, implementation, maturation and eventual deprecation.
- Ensure all core system components, including CPU and memory, meet or exceed the high-performance bar and remain healthy across the fleet of EC2 servers.
- Organize a team of skilled hardware and system development engineers to partner with silicon suppliers, ODMs, and internal customers to maintain a high-performing system component roadmap.
- Define implementation strategy and report status frequently to senior leadership, directly enabling AWS to launch next‑generation server designs.

Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of engineering experience.
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering cloud hardware experience with primary focus on CPU and memory.
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience partnering with silicon providers and ODMs.
- Experience designing and developing large‑scale, high‑performing applications.

Compensation
Base pay ranges from $157,600/year in our lowest geographic market to $283,200/year in our highest. Compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments and other benefits. For more information, see Amazon employee benefits.
