The Alexa organization is seeking a highly organized, proactive and driven Executive Assistant to support Directors in Sunnyvale, California.
The Executive Assistant (EA) will be responsible for handling confidential information and maintaining professionalism in dealing with senior executives across the company. Role responsibilities include managing multiple complex calendars, planning and organizing events of all sizes, and coordinating domestic and international travel. This candidate will help build a positive team environment and establish working relationships inside and outside of the group.
The EA must be creative, organized, detail‑oriented, exercise good judgment, have strong written, verbal and administrative skills. The EA must be able to work in a dynamic, complex work environment and balance multiple priorities. They will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure to handle a wide variety of tasks, assignments and confidential matters with discretion. The EA must demonstrate a strong bias for action by handling administrative matters expeditiously, proactively and professionally to ensure successful completion of assigned projects and tasks.
Key job responsibilities
Manage an active and fluid calendar; must show meticulous attention to detail in scheduling, coordinating and planning internal meetings, agendas and appointments
Planning detailed domestic and international travel
Manage expense report coordination and submission
Organize, execute, and assist with team activities (staff meeting agendas, all‑hands meetings, off‑sites, and team social events)
Serving as the “gatekeeper” to the executive office, screening and prioritizing appointments/meeting requests while always providing polite and professional service
Communicating on behalf of the senior executive directly with the leadership team and other stakeholders across the organization
Help to develop & maintain new org mechanisms
Training other administrative staff on company policies and best practices

This exciting role requires attention to detail, the ability to meet tight deadlines, great organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple critical requests.
A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism in dealing with senior leaders and engineers inside the company is important, as is a good sense of humor.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to complete complex tasks and projects quickly with minimal guidance, react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, and take effective action with ambiguity and show grace under pressure.

Basic Qualifications
5 years of senior level leadership support, or 3 years of Amazon experience
High school or equivalent diploma
Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company
Experience designing processes to maximize efficiency
Experience with executive level calendar management, or experience managing multiple complex calendars, planning and organizing events of all sizes, and coordinating domestic and international travel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
