Job Summary Acts as an active member of the patient care team, providing clinical assessment and delivery of respiratory care procedures to critically ill patients. Analyzes patient data to determine appropriate therapy, makes recommendations, and collaborates with the medical staff.
Key Responsibilities
Initiate and assist with respiratory tests and procedures, including blood gas analysis.
Respond to respiratory emergencies and transport patients as indicated.
Prepare care plans, schedule treatments, and provide consultation as part of the care team.
Administer Respiratory Care modalities, modify treatment plans based on clinical response.
Participate in education of students, physicians, staff, patients, and families.
Qualifications Education:
Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Licenses:
Respiratory Therapist licensed in Massachusetts.
Experience:
NICU experience 1‑2 years preferred; NPS Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialty (cert) preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Clinical assessment expertise, communication with interdisciplinary teams, bedside assistance, and capability to walk/push equipment up to 100 lbs.
