Description We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.
Job overview and responsibilities This position supports Finance leadership in their role of jointly managing the fleet plan with Network Planning and Tech Ops. As such, this position is directly responsible for conducting fleet related financial analysis necessary to support ongoing key fleet decisions and generate optimal financial outcomes for United Airlines.
Lead efforts to:
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis behind all aircraft related decisions (i.e., purchases, retirements, and reconfigurations) and partner with finance leadership in managing the fleet plan to align with key company financial targets.
Provide senior leadership with clear economic narratives that communicate investment impacts and enable leadership to make informed strategic decisions, utilizing financial modeling and fleet economic projections. Fleet finance related ad‑hoc projects and scenario analysis will be required.
Provide leadership to the organization to ensure accomplishment of goals set by the management team.
Participate and contribute to meetings involving key business and finance issues; collaborate routinely with business partners in Network Planning, Tech Ops and other parts of Finance on fleet related projects.
Maintain working trip cost model to ensure key business partners have the most up‑to‑date fleet financials for their use; work with external aircraft manufacturers to maintain accurate financial modeling of current and future aircraft economics.
Build and present executive level materials to senior finance leadership in preparation for key cross‑functional fleet meetings.
Will have responsibility for a team of financial analysts.

Qualifications What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree
Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field
5+ years of progressive financial planning & analysis responsibility
7+ years of related experience
Advanced knowledge in
Accounting and financial statements
Financial analysis principles
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Excellent analytical and communication abilities
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Master's degree
MBA or Masters in Finance
Oracle EPM Planning experience
The base pay range for this role is $124,735.00 to $162,388.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job‑related factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long‑term incentive compensation awards.
