Job Overview
Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in NW Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD, is seeking robotics team assistant coaches supporting grades 9-12. This position provides support and supervision of students during weekend robotics team meetings and competitions.
Responsibilities This is an hourly position (4-8 hours per week) and the candidate must be able to work Sundays 12-4pm and/or Fridays 4-8pm. The candidate will also be expected to chaperone the weekend competitions at the end of each season.
Qualifications
Minimum of a high school diploma and prior experience working with children.
Bachelor’s level coursework is a plus.
Strong technology skills.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Flexibility, patience, sense of humor, and a demonstrated love for working with students.
Robotics and/or engineering experience is a plus but not a requirement.
Required Certifications & Compliance Candidate must successfully complete all background checking requirements at hire and adhere to all health and safety protocols on campus. Current CPR/AED certification is required; non‑certified applicants may complete the course upon hire.
Compensation Hourly Rate:
$18.00 – $23.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
