Radiologist - Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Spectrum Builders & Renovations invites consideration for the Radiologist Physician position at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland (The Presidents Hospital). The candidate should have a completed fellowship in one of the following or equivalent experience of at least 3 years in the previous 5 years: Neuroradiology, Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Ultrasonography, Pediatric Radiology, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, or other sub-specialty of diagnostic radiology. We are accepting part-time and full-time positions. Position Type: 1099 Independent Contractor. As an independent contractor, you will provide a full range of medical services in diagnostic radiology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, board certification by the American Board of Radiology, and relevant fellowship training or equivalent experience. Minimum Qualifications
Degree/Education: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited U.S. or Canadian school. Graduates of foreign medical schools practicing in the U.S. must possess a medical license and certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or Fifth Pathway. Certifications: Must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred but not required. Experience: Completion of a Fellowship in Neuroradiology, Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Ultrasonography, Pediatric Radiology, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, or other diagnostic radiology subspecialty, or equivalent experience of at least 3 years in the previous 5 years. Subspecialty training in Neuroradiology with CAQ, Musculoskeletal Radiology, or Breast Imaging is strongly preferred; other qualifying candidates will be considered. Board Certification: Board certification by the American Board of Radiology. Licensure: Current, active, valid, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory. Licenses must be renewed in accordance with requirements. Recertification/relicensing training may be necessary outside Government time. DEA: Required. Security Clearance: Must have a clear background to pass the security clearance. Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Immunizations: Up-to-date immunizations. Background: Ability to pass a security background check. Additional Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well enough to communicate with patients and health care providers. Knowledge of equipment and supply terminology; ability to identify and use necessary equipment and explain proper use to staff and patients. Ability to teach patients proper self-care and motivate continued procedures for rapid healing. Knowledge of age-related needs across Infants, Children, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatric populations. Skills in interviewing, examination, assessment, and management of patients with general medical and surgical health problems. Specific Duties
Perform and interpret diagnostic images across subspecialties of diagnostic radiology. Develop diagnostic plans based on clinical questions and information. Provide patient counseling and education, including informed consent and conscious sedation. Perform image-guided procedures, biopsies, aspirations, infusions, and drainage. Communicate effectively with referring physicians and clinical personnel. Attend patient care conferences and professional activities. Maintain records and reports in compliance with regulations. Participate in quality assurance programs and performance improvement activities. Seniority level
