Job Summary The Associate Product Lead will work directly with healthcare clients to discover, design, build, and deploy custom AI assistant solutions. This client-facing role requires traveling to health system sites to conduct discovery sessions, map workflows, and rapidly prototype AI-powered products using internal development platforms. The ideal candidate combines management consulting or product management experience with deep technical understanding of LLMs and a creative problem-solving mindset. This role reports to Product Leadership and is responsible for owning the full product lifecycle—from initial stakeholder conversations through deployment and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
Travel to client sites for extended engagements to conduct stakeholder interviews and uncover high-value use cases for AI assistants
Lead discovery sessions with health system employees across departments and levels, from frontline staff to executives
Map existing workflows and identify opportunities where AI assistants can drive measurable impact
Rapidly prototype solutions using internal AI development platforms (Assistant Builder, Abstractive, and similar tools) during on-site engagements
Build and configure AI assistants with appropriate knowledge bases, prompts, and workflows tailored to specific client needs
Product Specification & Delivery
Create detailed product specifications documenting use cases, user requirements, data sources, and success metrics
Evaluate AI assistant outputs for accuracy, relevance, and alignment with client needs
Troubleshoot and iterate on products throughout the development process
Lead user testing sessions and incorporate feedback into product refinements
Coordinate rollout plans including user training, communications, and ongoing support
Strategic Support
Partner with Product Leadership to identify new use case opportunities that can scale across client sites
to presentations for client check-ins and executive meetings
Conduct data analysis to support business cases and measure product impact
Document best practices and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related technical field – a Master's degree in a similar field is preferred
2-4 years of management consulting experience at a top consulting company (McKinsey, BCG, Bain) or product management experience at a top technology company
Healthcare industry experience required (health systems, healthcare technology, or consulting with healthcare clients)
Demonstrated proficiency with generative AI technologies and LLM-based applications
Experience with prompt engineering and AI application development
Track record of direct client engagement and relationship building
Comfort with ambiguity and ability to move quickly in a fast-paced startup environment
Able to work onsite in Palo Alto 3 days/week
Desired Qualifications
Hands‑on experience building custom AI applications or chatbots
Familiarity with healthcare workflows, clinical terminology, and health system IT environments
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
Background in user research or design thinking methodologies

Travel Requirements This role requires significant travel to healthcare client sites, often for extended engagements. Candidates should be prepared for 40-50% travel, depending on the active project.

Pay & Benefits The pay range for this role is between $165,000 and $200,000, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits.
