The Area Vice President of Sales will provide leadership and vision in developing revenue-generating initiatives to achieve the current year area business plan and support the long-term strategic sales plan for Straumann USA. This position will drive business growth with relationship management to provide extraordinarily high levels of customer satisfaction. The incumbent must anticipate changes in the marketplace, industry, customer base, and competitive position, and adjust sales plans accordingly. The Area Vice President manages a regional sales leadership team for a geographic area comprised of multiple sales territories and ensures the organization's sales volume and profitability objectives are met.

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Develops, implements, and updates the respective Area Business Plan to ensure company sales direction is executed for Surgical, Restorative and Digital product lines

Responsible for creating strategic business plans to deliver on sales quotas, as well as developing and driving that strategy

Responsible for the overall success of the team, supporting and managing activities in identifying, qualifying, and pursuing sales opportunities

Manages and develops field sales staff. Hires, trains, reviews, rewards, and motivates Regional Sales Directors and field sales staff. Coaches field employees on sales techniques and tactics through Regional Sales Directors

With a disciplined approach toward new business development, has the ability to drive, manage, and close significant sales opportunities

Establishes and manages effective sales and customer programs and seminars to promote new account sales and field sales growth and emerging products and services using internal sales support, marketing, and educational resources

Serves as a true expert in sales best practices, leveraging knowledge and skills to impact team performance by example to make immeasurable impacts on our sales mission

Manages and reports on regional sales pipeline and forecasting, as well as reporting on team performance and communicating Key Performance Indicators to sales leadership

Collaborates effectively with all cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, etc. OR 4+ years training in Business or Sales management

10+ years of sales experience with 2+ years of progressive sales management experience

Preferred Qualifications

Dental or medical device experience

Sales team leadership experience, with the ability to successfully contribute as both a leader and a producer, achieving independent sales goals while leading a team to success

Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to influence morale, drive team ambition, and foster organizational culture and values

Ability to express ideas and information effectively in individual and group situations, including adjusting language and approach based on the audience

Demonstrated skills in building high-performance teams guided by specific and measurable objectives in areas such as people development, leadership, and revenue generation

Ability to anticipate team requirements and quickly formulate effective, innovative, and far-reaching solution, taking decisive, forward-thinking actions

A high level of enthusiasm for problem solving and analysis

Excellent customer service instincts combined with exceptional relationship building skills

Ability to adapt with an entrepreneurial mindset

High level knowledge of Straumann products and services, pricing practices, and selling skills

Effective management skills with ability to manage an area sales operation

Excellent time management, communication, decision‑making, human relations, presentation, and organization skills

Annual base salary range: $190,000-$230,000 + $76,000 commission range at plan (uncapped over plan). The final base pay for this position will vary based on geographic location and candidate experience relative to what the company reasonably anticipates for this position. Vehicle reimbursement plus mileage is also provided.
