Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Human Resources Manager
to lead and support comprehensive HR operations within a professional services environment. This role is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day HR functions while partnering closely with leadership to support talent strategy, compliance, employee relations, and organizational development.
The ideal candidate brings significant experience working in a
law firm environment , understands the unique culture and regulatory considerations of legal organizations, and can operate confidently across both strategic and hands‑on HR responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all core HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compliance
Serve as a trusted HR partner to attorneys, leadership, and professional staff
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for legal and administrative professionals
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations applicable to law firms
Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices
Partner with leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives
Oversee compensation, benefits, and payroll coordination in collaboration with external vendors
Support performance review processes, promotions, and career progression frameworks
Provide guidance on sensitive and confidential HR matters with discretion and professionalism
Manage HR metrics, reporting, and documentation
Support DEI, engagement, and culture‑building initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
8–17 years of progressive HR experience
Minimum of 6 years of HR experience working within a law firm or legal services environment
Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices specific to professional services organizations
Proven experience managing employee relations issues and advising senior leadership
Experience overseeing recruitment and talent management for attorneys and professional staff
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder‑management skills
High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential matters
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or advanced HR certification (SHRM‑SCP, SPHR, PHR)
Experience supporting mid‑sized to large law firms
Familiarity with multi‑state employment compliance
Experience managing or mentoring HR staff
Background implementing HR systems, process improvements, or organizational initiatives
