Our client is a well-established nonprofit organization and they are seeking a detail-oriented
Grant Accountant
to join their team. This role is critical for managing grant reporting, compliance, and budgeting processes while supporting the organization's broader accounting functions. Key Responsibilities for Grant Accountant
Grant Management & Compliance Oversee financial reporting for active grants Ensure compliance with grant requirements and deadlines Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-related financial matters
Budgeting & Financial Support Assist with program and grant budget development Support program managers with financial narratives and reporting
General Accounting Month-end close, reconciliations, and financial software accuracy Lead the annual single audit cycle Collaborate across departments to maintain financial integrity
Qualifications for Grant Accountant
Experience:
3-5+ years in general accounting (staff accountant level) Nonprofit and/or grant accounting experience strongly preferred
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (flexible for extensive experience)
Skills:
Strong verbal communication and ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff Adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working with diverse stakeholders
