Grant Accountant

Full-Time | Onsite Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 About the Organization CFS has partnered with a mission-driven, multi-site nonprofit organization supporting grant-funded programs across Southeast Michigan. This role plays a key part in ensuring strong financial stewardship, compliance, and accurate reporting in support of community-focused initiatives.The Grant Accountant oversees the financial management, reporting, and compliance of multiple grant-funded programs. This position is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and supervising grant-related accounting activities while partnering closely with program leaders and finance management. Key Responsibilities Maintain grant calendars and ensure timely submission of financial reports and deliverables
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including forecasts and variance analysis
Develop and monitor grant budgets and ensure compliance with funding requirements
Manage month-end and year-end close processes for grant-funded accounts
Review reconciliations, approve journal entries, and oversee cash accounts
Provide financial guidance to department leaders and program staff
Support audits and assist with organization-wide financial reporting and consolidations
Supervise and support accounting staff and grant compliance activities
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting
5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, including budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis
4+ years of supervisory or management experience
Experience with grant-funded or nonprofit accounting strongly preferred
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
