Director of Engineering and R&D- Rubber Products
Reports to:
Division President
Summary:
Lead and oversee the Global Engineering and R&D Departments for the Extruded Products Division, managing product and applications engineers, and chemists. Ensure the development of cost‑effective, manufacturable products that meet customer specifications and project timelines. Secure customer material approvals and oversee design/validation testing to support revenue goals.
Responsibilities
Direct global engineering teams to meet stakeholder goals.
Drive product development to meet five-year revenue targets.
Develop new rubber formulations/compounds for specific customer needs, then ensure formulations are engineered to customer specs and full‑scale production.
Ensure timely customer material approvals and validation testing.
Collaborate with manufacturing to meet cost and quality standards.
Manage department personnel and foster talent growth.
Maintain design standards, protect proprietary information, and support compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; Master’s/MBA preferred.
7+ years in Engineering Management, in rubber formulation, extrusion and compounding mandatory.
Strong knowledge in engineering, rubber chemistry, extrusion, and product development lifecycle.
Demonstrated experience managing teams of R&D and Engineering Professionals.
