Senior Superintendent – K-12 / Public Works Construction Employment Type:
Full-Time
About Our Client: Our client is a leading general contractor specializing in K-12 education, municipal, and public works construction projects across Northern California. With a strong reputation for integrity, innovation, and excellence, they deliver projects that serve our communities and stand the test of time.
Position Overview: Seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations for complex K-12 and public works construction projects in the Sacramento region. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who can manage large project teams, uphold the highest safety and quality standards, and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and design partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all field operations from preconstruction through project closeout for assigned projects.
Manage day-to-day site activities, including scheduling, sequencing, manpower, and logistics.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve field issues and maintain progress.
Lead and mentor field staff, including superintendents, foremen, and trades.
Participate in preconstruction planning and constructability reviews.
Maintain accurate documentation, daily reports, and as-built records.
Foster positive relationships with owners, school districts, and public agencies.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10+ years of construction experience, with at least 5 years in a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent role.
Proven track record managing ground-up and modernization projects within K-12 or public works sectors.
Strong knowledge of DSA processes, state and local building codes, and public contracting requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain).
Ability to manage multiple projects and teams concurrently.
