We address cross‑jurisdictional issues daily, making decisions that impact transportation, public safety, senior services, job access, disaster recovery, water quality, and overall quality of life in the region.
Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day operations of the Livable Centers program and provide oversight to ensure consistent quality across studies.
Lead staff on Livable Centers program studies and related planning projects that promote mixed land uses designed to be walkable, connected, and accessible by multiple transportation modes.
Develop and oversee project scopes of work and budgets.
Provide overall management of consultant contracts for Livable Centers studies.
Build and maintain relationships with current and future partners in the H‑GAC region.
Identify policies, regulations, and best management practices that advance Livable Centers principles and implementation.
Lead the development of information resources and presentation materials for the Livable Centers Program.
Identify and pursue alternative grant and funding sources to expand the program’s reach.
Develop and review report content and project recommendations.
Contribute to work and projects of other teams at H‑GAC as applicable.
Key Qualifications
Experience working as a planner, including transportation and land use planning.
Strategic or long‑range planning experience.
Ability to build and maintain consensus among stakeholders.
Experience leading facilitation and execution of public engagement activities.
Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.
Do you have…
Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study.
Five years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, or in related job duties.
Commitment to residing within the agency’s region of service.
