Office Location:

San Jose, CA (full‑time, on‑site; remote option unavailable).

Job Summary:

Therma has an immediate need for an experienced Project Manager who will be based in the San Jose area and will manage projects of varying scale, from design to execution. The Project Manager works with customers to develop scope of work, budget and estimates, oversee mechanical, piping, and plumbing plans, and lead large project teams. The most important aspect of the role is to ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and maintaining strong relationships with customers and project team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop professional communication with co‑workers and clients.

Make sales contacts, research customer needs, and follow up on sales leads.

Develop and maintain client relationships and assure client satisfaction.

Coordinate and lead staff from all departments as needed throughout the project life cycle.

Prepare budget projections and control costs; provide communications including memos, contracts, change orders, and strategies to ensure best practices and legal protection.

Meet revenue and profit goals.

Attend client project meetings.

Be present on job sites during construction activities and critical project times.

Establish, manage and lead the project team.

Facilitate and troubleshoot project problems.

Purchase materials and equipment as needed.

Maintain accurate project cost projections.

Value‑engineer to control budgets and costs.

Assemble and review submittals with the client and installation crew.

Communicate with the client and troubleshoot technical issues.

Cost out change orders and present to the client.

Track material costs and labor hours as necessary.

Redline and mark up drawings as needed.

Provide leadership and mentoring by example.

Support accountability for individual projects and the MEP department.

Maintain and follow Therma’s established Project Management procedures.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in HVAC, mechanical, or plumbing industry.

Ability to operate independently and exercise discretionary judgment when collaborating with others.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred (not required).

Current licensed PE preferred (not required).
