Responsibilities
Direct assigned nursing personnel and serve as a resource and consultant to ensure the plan of care for the patient population.
Possess a specialized knowledge base and skills to facilitate patient treatment and staff development.
Provide and oversee patient care, implementing hospital and department philosophy and objectives.
Provide leadership during times of crisis to assure continuity of care and a productive work environment.
Maintain approved standards of patient care, collaborating with appropriate persons for continuity of care under guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer. Communicate clinical issues to the CNO.
Promote clinical development, competency and expertise in staff to maximize patient outcomes.
Evaluate performance of professional and non-licensed nursing personnel; assist in interviewing prospective staff.
Ensure all staff document care provided, patient family teaching and discharge planning for assigned patients.
Contribute to smooth functioning of the unit by providing direction to staff, other departments, and families as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid State RN License required.
Three to five years experience including supervisory experience required.
BSN or enrollment in BSN program required.
Certified BLS before hire date required.
Certified ACLS or completion within first 6 months of employment required.
Preferred Experience
CRRN preferred.
Master’s degree preferred.
