Clinical Deployment Consultant (Mid-America)
The Clinical Consultant is responsible for maintaining customer relationships in assigned accounts, ensuring a high level of customer service, and demonstrating accountability for their part in the BD Sales Process. The role serves as an IV therapy clinical expert and uses a consultative approach to plan for BD Infusion product implementations. The Clinical Consultant may support the Clinical Educator Consultant in providing education to facilities considering or using BD Infusion products, hardware (device) and software (interoperability and connectivity), from presales throughout the implementation cycle. The position leads presentations and discussions with key individuals or groups to address clinical issues and/or concerns, provides assessments, and offers the clinical value of the BD solution.
Overall Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant clinical operations, products, services, and competitive background products.
Provide clinical leadership to BD customers in the implementation of interoperability and connectivity products.
Interact and support Project Manager to ensure timely and productive implementations.
Collaborate with hospital clinicians and EMR vendors to facilitate clinical workflows and participate in the development of policies and procedures.
Review and facilitate customer awareness of common HL7 error codes.
Escalate issues to clinical and technical SME when appropriate.
Provide follow‑up to customers, according to department guidelines/criteria, for the purpose of system assessment, customer satisfaction, problem solving, and evaluation of the BD product/solutions.
Develop recommendations to assure that customers experience the full benefit and capabilities of solutions implemented.
Function in a highly regulated industry.
Skills, Duties And Tasks Particular to the Job
Facilitate conference calls and customer meetings for BD Infusion product implementations.
Establish rapport with customers conducive to long‑term business relationships.
Provide team support and product information on Infusion products as assigned by manager.
Support mentoring of team members to ensure product and process competency.
Possess leadership skills to manage customer teams, negotiate effectively, gain consensus, and deliver concise communication.
Guide the review of customer site assessment and facilitate project design and implementation of Infusion products and technologies.
Provide feedback to Business Operations and Field Trainers for continuous improvement of implementation methodology, tools, and services.
Technical
Demonstrate knowledge of clinical workflow processes.
Ability to interact and guide diverse cross‑functional teams to achieve desired outcomes.
Demonstrate knowledge of established Infusion product implementation methodologies and tools or equivalent industry standards.
Must be detail oriented and able to coordinate complex projects consistent with established company and customer objectives.
Demonstrate critical thinking and ability to aid customers in improving current practice operations including standardization across hospital systems.
Demonstrate problem solving, troubleshooting and system consultation as it relates to clinical workflow and best practice considerations.
Install and support BD Infusion hardware and software solutions.
Influence customer acceptance and utilization of BD Infusion products and services.
Qualifications
Current Nursing degree required.
4–6 years of experience in a related field.
Acute care hospital experience required, preferably with nursing informatics or leadership experience; pediatric, NICU, and oncology experience highly desired.
Valid driver’s license and minimum age 21; driving may be required.
Home‑based position with travel ranging from 75–100% (overnight). Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends, are required.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. and be able to push, pull, stoop, bend, and lift.
Must provide proof of and maintain current immunizations (Hepatitis B, Influenza, MMR, Varicella, TB/PPD, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis, COVID‑19) upon hire.
Must meet vendor credential requirements for assigned customer sites.
Preferred Skills
Specific knowledge of BD business is a plus.
Salary Range Information US$87,500.00 – $144,400.00 USD Annual
