Locations: Lehi, Utah and San Jose, California (onsite, preferably San Jose).

About the Role As a CBRE Engineering Ops Director, you will manage the team responsible for the performance of MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems and maintain continuity across all properties, including Class A and high‑rise buildings. This role focuses on quality control for all properties.

What You’ll Do

Oversee a business unit’s financial performance.

Identify new business opportunities, engage in client solicitations, develop proposals, and create presentations.

Approve hiring and contracting of contractors and subcontractors, implementing bidding procedures as required.

Direct the daily operation of facility controls and asset‑management systems.

Approve annual operating budgets.

Provide formal supervision, monitor training and development, conduct performance evaluations and coaching, and oversee recruiting and hiring.

Coordinate and manage the team’s daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, cross‑train staff, and track deadlines.

Apply robust knowledge of multiple disciplines and key business drivers to enhance departmental and cross‑functional performance.

Lead by example, model CBRE RISE values, and persuade stakeholders to align with business plans.

Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers to achieve common goals.

Identify and solve complex operational and organizational problems using appropriate internal and external resources.

Improve and refine existing methods, processes, and standards within the discipline.

Strong preference for data‑center and critical‑infrastructure experience.

Travel expected 10 % of the time.

What You’ll Need

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent combination of experience and education) with 8‑12 years of relevant experience.

Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, and performance management.

Ability to convey performance expectations and handle complex information.

Leadership skills that influence and drive results across multiple departments.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Excellent organizational skills and a keen analytical mindset.

Experience in developing and managing organizational budgets.

Qualified to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

CBRE carefully considers factors such as education, training, and experience to determine compensation. The minimum salary is $175,000 annually and the maximum is $200,000 annually, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
