Base pay range $140,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Additional compensation types Annual Bonus Direct message the job poster from Segrera Associates Segrera Associates is partnering with an organization in the life sciences industry that is looking to hire an accounting manager. The company is seeking an experienced accounting manager to support monthly close, technical accounting, and day-to-day GL operations within a publicly traded corporate environment. Leadership prefers a candidate with a strong technical accounting foundation ideally someone coming out of Big 4/Big 6, or a public + private background. This is a high-visibility role that partners closely with the Controller, manages two direct reports, and plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Monthly Close & GL Oversight Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Review and prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses. Ensure accuracy and integrity across the general ledger and sub-ledgers. Technical Accounting Support technical accounting research and application of U.S. GAAP. Assist with accounting memos, policy updates, and treatment of complex transactions. Provide support for audit requests and maintain documentation for internal controls. Leadership & Team Management Manage and mentor two direct reports (Senior/Staff-level accountants). Oversee workflow distribution, quality of work, and professional development. Support cross-functional communication with FP&A, HR, and operational teams. Process Improvement & Support Identify opportunities to enhance close efficiency and strengthen internal controls. Assist with ERP optimization and accounting system enhancements. Contribute to ad hoc projects, reporting packages, and business initiatives. Required Qualifications Public accounting experience required Big 4/Big 6 strongly preferred. Pub/Priv background or CPA/light Manager experience welcomed. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting fundamentals. 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with some supervisory exposure. Experience in a public company environment preferred (SOX exposure helpful). Strong Excel and systems proficiency. Work Model Hybrid: Expected 2–3 days onsite per week. Must be comfortable with a culture where leadership may request additional onsite presence as needed.
