Job Description Summary
The Field Service Engineer will provide efficient and effective field support for BD Pyxis Dispensing products and is accountable for independently providing customer service within a given territory in a timely manner, including installations, limited cross‑product repair, preventative maintenance, calibration, and functional support for Sales and Implementation teams.

Position Overview This remote, field‑based position requires daily travel to customer locations within your assigned territory. Ideal candidates should reside within a 30‑mile radius of the position’s base location.
Core Responsibilities
Provide both remote and on‑site technical support for BD Pyxis/Parata automated dispensing systems in healthcare facilities, including DHA/DoD facilities.
Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders; diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
Maintain ownership of work orders and escale complex issues to team leadership.
Document all service activities thoroughly in the tracking system.
Implement preventive maintenance programs for all supported products.
Support Sales and Implementation teams as needed.
Perform installations, in‑servicing, repairs, preventive maintenance, and calibration.
Maintain accurate small parts inventory and follow inventory control procedures.
Properly maintain company assets (tools and inventories).
Participate in on‑call rotation for 24/7 customer support.
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in Healthcare Technology or other technical field, or 3–5 years of related work experience.
3–5 years of combined Hardware, Software, and IT experience supporting proprietary and standard applications.
24/7 on‑call experience in a customer‑facing/field service environment.
Proficiency with computer electronics, Windows OS, and networking.
Strong mechanical, computer, verbal, written, and time‑management skills.
Ability to work independently within defined processes with minimal supervision.
Valid driver’s license that meets BD’s auto safety standards.
Current immunizations including Hepatitis B, Influenza, MMR, Varicella, Annual TB/PPD, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis, and COVID‑19.
Physical capability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Customer Support Certification.
Experience working as a hospital pharmacy technician.
Experience in a hospital Bio‑Med environment.
Prior military Bio‑Med experience.
Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service experience.
Work Environment This position requires daily travel to customer sites and participation in a 24/7 on‑call rotation. The Field Service Engineer must be comfortable working in healthcare environments and adhering to all facility protocols and safety requirements.
