Job Description:

  • The Phlebotomist I represents the face of the organization to patients, collecting quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing.
  • This role involves direct patient interaction, ensuring trust, confidence, safety, and accuracy.
  • The Phlebotomist I follows established procedures, maintains professionalism, and contributes to a positive patient experience while supporting daily operational needs.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience.
Experience:
  • One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience required.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Create an atmosphere of trust while explaining procedures and collecting specimens safely and accurately.
Should Have:
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Skills:
  • Phlebotomy skills across various age groups.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Data entry and computer proficiency.
  • Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
Qualification And Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
