Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative I represents the face of the organization to patients visiting for routine health needs or critical health decisions.
- This entry-level role supports patient care by greeting patients upon arrival, answering questions with care and compassion, and maintaining the integrity of the waiting area.
- The individual assists with coverage during breaks when other phlebotomists are unavailable and is trained in phlebotomy skills to support career growth within the organization.
- The Patient Services Representative I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures in a safe and accurate manner.
- This role demonstrates excellence in customer care while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- The position plays a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience and maintaining the integrity of the lobby environment.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public while demonstrating a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check-ins using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
- Willingness to learn phlebotomy skills during downtime or when coverage is required.
- Ability to perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties confidently once trained.
- High level of customer service skills, which are critical to the success of this role.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one to two years of client-facing customer service experience required.
- Prior phlebotomy experience is not required.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
