Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II represents the face of the company to patients seeking routine health services or critical diagnostic insights.
- This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe and professional environment.
- The PSR II interacts directly with patients, fostering trust while performing procedures safely, accurately, and with respect for confidentiality. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor s office, a patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and patient initials, including signature post-venipuncture, ensuring tubes are labeled in the patient s presence.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Commitment to all company policies and procedures, including dress code, employee safety, and core principles.
- Ability to make decisions using established procedures and exercise good judgment.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Ability to travel, work flexible hours, and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus with clear and transparent communication skills.
- Willingness to adapt to change and maintain strong knowledge of business processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- One to three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Two years of patient service center experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment strongly preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
