The Center’s mission is to advance law’s role in promoting society’s health through research, education, and community engagement. The health law curriculum covers healthcare regulation, bioethics, public health, social justice, global health, and health technology.
Position Description Georgia State University College of Law invites entry‑level and lateral candidates to serve as a tenure‑track professor in Health Law, beginning no later than the 2026‑2027 academic year. The successful candidate will:
Teach in the health law and general law curriculum, including at least one of the foundational courses required for the Health Law Certificate:
Health Care: Finance and Delivery
or
Health Care: Quality and Access .
Make meaningful scholarly contributions in health law, with a particular interest in health business, financing, and/or regulation.
Participate actively in Georgia State Law life and the Center for Law, Health & Society.
Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across the university and with external partners in health and legal fields.
Advise students, helping them develop a professional identity and prepare for impactful careers.
Teach additional courses such as Evidence, Professional Responsibility, Corporations, or Commercial Law as needed.

Required Experience
Assistant Professor: Demonstrated track record or promise in teaching and research.
Associate or Full Professor: Superior academic credentials and demonstrated potential for excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service.
Required Education Applicants must hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school or foreign equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience 3‑5 years of legal practice or related professional experience in health law is appreciated.
Pre‑Employment Requirements A criminal background check is required.
Work Hours The appointment is 10 months with a work distribution of 33.4% teaching, 33.3% research, and 33.3% service. Faculty may be required to work non‑standard hours, including day, evening, online, blended/hybrid, and weekends, as determined by the Dean.
Salary Competitive and commensurate with rank at appointment.
