Division Director – Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Clinical Associate, Clinical Professor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor

The School of Dental Medicine seeks a Division Director to lead clinical programs, educate dental students and residents, and collaborate with departmental and university partners. The Director reports to the Chair of Surgical Sciences and works closely with other departments, clinical affairs offices, and regional educational centers. Responsibilities

Design, implement, and deliver didactic and clinical instruction in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology to predoctoral students and advanced education residents. Assess student and resident competencies, including diagnosis and management of oral mucosal and osseous disorders. Provide patient care services in Ross Hall clinics, Faculty Practice, Hospital Dentistry, Community Service Learning Centers, and ECU Health, including the Leo Jenkins Cancer Center. Participate in the Leo Jenkins Cancer Centers Head and Neck Cancer group and statewide outreach activities focused on oral disease prevention and management. Oversee biometric and teledentistry diagnostic services, ensuring compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and related regulations. Collaborate with Department Chair, Course Directors, and the Assistant Dean for Dental Education and Informatics to develop and deliver innovative curricula incorporating active learning strategies and information technologies. Assist in continuous quality improvement, compliance efforts, and conduct basic and/or clinical research to support scholarly promotion. Serve on committees, boards, and professional societies, and prepare accreditation and other program documentation as needed. Minimum Education and Experience

DDS, DMD, or equivalent dental degree. Completion of an advanced education program in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology accredited by CODA. Current residents who will complete the program by the start date are eligible. Eligibility for dental licensure in North Carolina. Eligibility for credentialing with ECU School of Dental Medicine and ECU Health Medical Center. Board certification or eligibility with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the time of employment. Licensing and Certification (Statutory)
