Overview I’m working confidentially with a highly regarded global law firm on a fund finance associate search in its Boston office. The group is busy, well established, and known for strong partner involvement, high-quality work, and a collaborative team culture.
The practice represents banks and other financial institutions in single‑lender and syndicated financings for private equity and venture capital funds, management companies, general partners, and related entities. Associates get meaningful responsibility, regular client exposure, and consistent deal flow without the chaos or internal competition that can exist in some larger platforms.
Why This Role
Well‑developed fund finance practice with steady demand
Lender‑side work on sophisticated PE and VC fund facilities
Hands‑on partners who are accessible and invested in training
Early responsibility and direct client interaction
Clear expectations and a structured approach to associate development
Collegial, low‑ego team with reasonable staffing practices
Boston‑based role with national and international deal exposure
Ideal Background
2 to 3 years of experience in debt finance transactions
Fund finance, private equity, or venture capital exposure helpful but not required
Experience drafting and negotiating loan and credit documents Familiarity with diligence review and limited partnership agreements
Comfortable managing multiple matters in a fast‑paced environment
Massachusetts bar admission required
Compensation and Benefits Compensation is competitive with peer firms i.e. it pays Cravath scale. The firm offers comprehensive benefits, including strong parental leave, flexible time away, retirement plans, wellness resources, and meaningful support for pro bono work.
Benefits
Medical insurance
Vision insurance
401(k)
Child care support
Paid maternity leave
Student loan assistance
Paid paternity leave
Confidential Inquiries If you’re open to a discreet conversation about the role, firm, and how it compares to other fund finance opportunities in the Boston market, feel free to reach out.
