THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Commercial Lines Account Executive manages an assigned book of business, develops client relationships, and delivers to grow and retain clients. Alongside the Producer, the Account Executive is responsible for overseeing management of assigned accounts including redundant interface with appropriate decision makers, proactive consultation, insurance program design, carrier interface/marketing, coordination of risk control resources, relevant collaboration with colleagues throughout HUB, and negotiation of coverage terms and conditions. Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary consultant to the client on assigned accounts, acting as the de facto technical expert and broker‑consultant. Ensure Producers, when assigned, are fully informed about and prepared for all client meetings and interfaces. Establish and maintain strong and productive professional relationships with “C‑Level” and other decision makers for assigned HUB clients. Obtain a detailed knowledge of the client’s business and industry, articulating applicable exposures to loss, insurance coverages, and appropriate/available risk management/control solutions. Establish and maintain strong and productive professional relationships with insurance carrier marketing, underwriting, and risk control staff, including a detailed familiarity with each carrier’s products and services in support of assigned clients. Directly oversee and coordinate the delivery of all HUB services to assigned clients throughout the policy cycle, including stewardship reports, delivery of risk control services, carrier meetings, claims reviews, preparation of coverage outlines, and marketing of emergent and renewal coverage requests. Maintain current receivable status for assigned clients, proactively collecting receivables more than 30 days past‑due and reporting unresolved circumstances to accounting. Ensure that all client service needs are promptly and professionally delivered, either directly by the AE or via HUB colleagues. Conduct annual review with clients, making coverage and loss control recommendations focused on reducing clients’ total cost of risk. Manage HUB Top 200 process. Identify opportunities for cross‑sell and up‑sell of other HUB products and services when appropriate for the clients’ needs. Document other insurance products and services the clients are purchasing through other providers and who those providers are. Work cooperatively and professionally with Account Team colleagues to deliver HUB services, using the interface as an opportunity to teach, train, and mentor Account Team members. Utilize various HUB and industry resources and tools that are available to best serve clients. Comply with HUB procedures and state/federal insurance regulations. Interface with HUB and carrier’s claims teams to monitor manage significant claims to resolution. Lead special projects for Producer and Account Team related to carrier program negotiation and development, including gathering statistical data and industry specific coverage forms and analysis. Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED. 7+ years insurance industry experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent combination of education & experience. Property & Casualty License required. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems (critical thinking). Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry. Respond to customer needs, solicit feedback to improve service, and handle difficult or emotional customer situations promptly and accurately. Prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities to complete assignments on time and with optimal accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and agency management systems. Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Primarily involves remaining in a stationary position for the majority of the workday. Communicates with colleagues and clients both in person and on the telephone; must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 – $100,000, depending on geographical location and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
