What to Expect As a member of the Energy Products System Architecture, Validation & Performance organization, you will project and program manage new/existing engineering initiatives for Megapack, Powerwall, Solar, Supercharging and related products. This is a cross‑functional role that requires coordination between different groups spanning business development, sales, applications, hardware, firmware and software engineering.

You will be immersed in the product development process and will shepherd projects from concept through validation. You will use your engineering background to understand the product hardware and firmware requirements, technical risks and the validation strategy to accelerate the development process. You will communicate and present technical proposals, feature definitions, project status, and develop recovery plans in the event of project slip. On a daily basis, you will interface with cross function teams – systems architecture & modeling, integration & validation, firmware & software, design, compliance, reliability – to define and drive development of new products and features, while also managing changes in existing products.

What You’ll Do

Help build, then manage the roadmap of next‑gen product architectures through cross‑functional work to conceptualize ideas, working with the modeling team on optimization strategies, and support proposal generation

Bring requirements management leadership to the organization to ensure requirements coverage in alignment with phase stage development process, ensure quality of requirements and support validation coverage

Define or help define requirements for complex, multi‑ECU fw/sw features by working with all involved stakeholders to ensure robust design, drive them through integration, validation and piloting

Drive action & accountability from cross functional groups to meet business priorities

What You’ll Bring

5+ years of experience in a fast‑pace NPI, cross‑function teams orientated environment working on programs for high‑volume mass production products

Demonstrate understanding of new product development cycles and criticality of time‑to‑market – any time spent on perfecting a design is foregoing the next big thing

Ability to grasp complex technical topics and abstract key issues and risks in an actionable form

Experience in developing firmware and software requirements, capture their requirements in formal requirements management system and test plan creation

Experience in leading large group of people, and able to remain calm with big picture in mind in the face of uncertainties

Detail oriented with strong record‑keeping and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication skills from teams to executives, both verbal and written

Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent practical knowledge

Expected Compensation $124,000 – $216,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
