Base Pay Range $95,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr
Mental Health Program Director – Sacramento Join our team as Program Director for our Sacramento/San Joaquin Mental Health team! The Program Director plays a critical role in the delivery of quality treatment services to the program’s clients and families, overseeing the clinical and Quality Improvement aspects of all Medi‑Cal funded programs in the agency.
About Alternative Family Services Alternative Family Services is a Foster Family, Adoption and Mental Health Agency that has been serving abused and neglected children in our community since 1973. Our mission is to support vulnerable children and families in need of stability, safety, and well‑being in communities. We provide a wide range of foster, adoption, mental health and transition‑aged youth services in English and Spanish. We have eight locations throughout the Bay Area and 200 employees. Responsibilities
Responsible for direct clinical and administrative supervision of staff.
Responsible for the Quality Improvement aspects of the program, including knowing rules and regulations and implementing procedures to assure compliance with Medi‑Cal/EPSDT.
Assist the Regional Director in overall operation and services delivered by the program, including development, implementation, and evaluation of mental health services, staff training and evaluation, and coordination with outside agencies.
Ensure program is within budget.
Oversee program record keeping, timesheets, mileage, etc.
Participate in hiring program staff as dictated by the agency’s hiring guidelines.
Provide individual weekly supervision of staff, which includes treatment planning, case discussions, clinical training, ongoing assessment of work performance, problem solving, and monitoring supervisee progress toward goals.
Write staff evaluations in a timely manner.
Monitor program’s clinical records.
Schedule staff and ensure program coverage.
Serve as an agency representative to community resources.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy practices.
Adhere to attendance and punctuality policy.
Travel to AFS offices and County meetings using a personal vehicle safely maintained.
Provide emergency response; evenings and weekends may be required.
Qualifications
Licensed MFT, LCSW, Psy.D., or Ph.D.
Five years supervisory and/or management experience within public social service, mental health or managed care systems.
Obtain and maintain fingerprint and required background clearances.
Drive and transport children into community settings with a personally maintained vehicle.
Valid California driver’s license with acceptable driving record, auto insurance, and vehicle registration.
Integrity, honesty and strong work ethic.
Fluency in reading and writing English.
Cultural competency related to diverse client population.
Ability to interact with co‑workers, county representatives, and other treatment team members.
Work with minimal direct supervision and manage time & prioritize workload.
Excellent organizational and detail skills.
Driving Requirements This role involves working directly in the community and visiting foster homes throughout the Sacramento and Stockton regions. Candidates must possess a valid California driver’s license and maintain valid automobile insurance listing them as an insured driver.
We Offer
Pay range: $95,000 - $115,000 annually.
Additional pay differential for Spanish language fluency: $5,000 annually (must be fluent).
