The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a full‑time Physician Assistant. Physician Assistants will work at our OSF Little Company of Mary site where we are looking to complete an already excellent group of APPs and physicians working together. The hospital is located in Evergreen Park on the south side of Chicago, addressing the needs of an underserved population. The Emergency Department is newly renovated and also serves as a core site for the UIC Emergency Medicine Residency.
Job Responsibilities
Managing the care of patients within assigned area and/or area of expertise within the parameters of medical staff privileges
Working collaboratively with other providers in the care of patients, providing education to patients, families, and significant others
Integrating evidence‑based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision‑making
Acting as a resource for clinical staff in the practice setting; participating in the educational experience of learners
Leading multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated delivery of patient care services
Completing a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education in pediatric emergency topics every two years that are approved by an accrediting agency
All physician assistants caring for children in the emergency department and fast track/urgent care area should have documentation of a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education in pediatric emergency topics every two years that are approved by an accrediting agency.
