Accounting Officer (remote) Job at Robert Half in Millstone Township

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Western Monmouth County, New Jersey. This Contract to potential long-term position involves overseeing the full cycle of accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in processing vendor invoices and payments. Set up new vendors and subcontractors in the accounting system, requesting W-9 forms as needed. - Generate and maintain weekly accounts payable aging reports to track outstanding balances. - Update and manage tax records in alignment with company policies and regulatory standards. - Perform monthly vendor account reconciliations to resolve discrepancies and maintain accuracy. - Review and reconcile Travel & Expense (T& E) reports, ensuring compliance with company guidelines. - Support month-end closing activities by assisting with necessary reconciliations and reporting. - Process payroll for 1099 employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant regulations. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting. - Proficient understanding of accounts payable processes, vendor management, and basic accounting principles. - Familiarity with accounting systems and software. - Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data processing. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications. - We offer contract, temporary and permanent placement solutions for finance and accounting, technology, marketing and creative, legal, and administrative and customer support roles.
