Description Robert Half Legal is pleased to partner with a highly respected mid-size defense law firm in Beverly Hills to recruit a skilled Litigation Legal Secretary for a contract-to-hire position. Position Overview: This is a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a dynamic defense litigation team. The Litigation Legal Secretary will play a key role in managing case documentation, scheduling, and supporting attorneys in trial preparation and ongoing litigation matters. Successful performance in the contract period offers the potential for transition to a permanent role. Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, format, and revise legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, correspondence, and trial binders.
- File court documents electronically and physically with state and federal courts.
- Maintain attorney calendars, plan meetings, schedule depositions, court appearances, and deadlines.
- Organize, update, and maintain both electronic and hard copy case files with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Professionally communicate with clients, court officials, opposing counsel, and external vendors.
- Assist attorneys with billing, time entry, and the preparation of expense reports.
- Provide additional administrative support as needed, including answering phones and managing office correspondence.
- Minimum 3+ years of litigation legal secretary experience, preferably within a defense firm or similar environment.
- Proficiency in California state and federal court filing procedures.
- Experience with legal document management and court calendaring software.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
