Department:
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek Radiation Oncologists (CNS, Thoracic, GI, and GU) to join the Department of Radiation Oncology. Academic rank and track commensurate with record and experience.
Responsibilities
Provide licensed medical care including diagnosis, treatment (inclusive of surgery or pre/post-surgical care where appropriate), case management and clinical research.
Direct and provide direct and indirect patient care services in inpatient and outpatient settings; conduct ambulatory clinics; interview, obtain and review medical histories; perform physical examinations; administer radiation therapy procedures; order special procedures, diagnostic testing, and ancillary services.
Respond to consultation requests; determine, prescribe and implement treatment plans and/or medications required.
Document all services and instructions in medical record; educate patients and promote wellness, prevention and early detection.
Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities; serve as preceptor and provide bedside training to residents, fellows, medical students, nursing staff and allied professionals.
Ensure continuing medical education requirements are met; participate in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.
Qualifications
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified or board eligible in Radiation Oncology.
Completion of an accredited residency and fellowship (if applicable). Current or interim permit to practice medicine from the State of Ohio Medical Board required.
Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Radiation Oncology required; active DEA certification required.
Sub‑specialty board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Radiation Oncology preferred.
