About the Department The Department of Kinesiology and Health offers an exercise science undergraduate program, and MS and PhD programs in Exercise Science. It serves over 1,000 graduate and undergraduate students and features research in biomechanics, applied physiology, cardiovascular physiology, muscle biology, clinical exercise science, strength and conditioning, sport administration, and physical education pedagogy.

Position Description The Faculty will:

Develop, pursue, and maintain an externally funded research line.

Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in exercise physiology and related areas.

Mentor and direct graduate students’ theses and dissertations.

Supervise undergraduate student research fellowships and/or internships.

Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.

Required Education Earned Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start date.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

Ongoing record of scholarly work commensurate with the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor.

Rigorous and highly productive research line with strong potential for external funding on exercise science/physiology, applied physiology, and/or human performance.

Postdoctoral training.

Excellent teaching experience in Exercise Science or related areas.

Ability to collaborate with faculty within and outside the department.

Record of external funding for applicants applying for the Associate Professor position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Rigorous and productive research, effective teaching and student supervision, and potential to collaborate with faculty in other areas.

Pre‑Employment Requirements A criminal background check is required.
