Overview The Advanced Sensors and Techniques Group (Group 92) conducts exciting research in the development and operation of RF and electro‑optical sensors and resilient space systems critical to maintaining space domain awareness. The Group operates the Lincoln Space Surveillance Complex (LSSC) located in Westford MA on behalf of the US Space Force Space Operations Command (SpOC). LSSC helps provide space domain awareness to the nation, utilizing some of the world’s most sensitive radar systems to obtain high‑resolution imagery and metric observations of spaceborne targets and activities. The LSSC team is currently implementing upgrades to its transmitter, receiver, and electronic systems, and are looking for interested engineers to join the team. The LSSC team believes in collaborative research and has expertise in several technical areas, including RF systems integration and test, adaptive sensor array processing, embedded systems programming, advanced real‑time software techniques, signal detection and estimation, and microwave communications. LSSC technical staff members hold advanced degrees in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, and computer science.
Job Description Lincoln Space Surveillance Complex (LSSC) is seeking engineers with research interest in RF/microwave receiver hardware and/or radar transmitter systems to support the design, fabrication, integration, test, and analyses of advanced radar systems at the Westford MA field site. Candidates with backgrounds or interest in any of these areas—microwave system design and analysis, RF receiver architectures, high‑powered transmitter systems, digital hardware design, or microwave remote sensing—are strongly encouraged to apply.
Position Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field. In lieu of an MS, a BS in the above areas with 3 years of related experience will be considered.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance from the US Department of Defense.
Good organizational skills with the ability to complete assignments while working independently and/or in a team environment.
Effective technical communication, including the ability to describe research interests and accomplishments.
This position is located at the Lincoln Space Surveillance Complex (LSSC) in Westford MA.
Salary Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $116,400 - $140,000
Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400 - $182,200
