Test Engineer
As a Test Engineer, you will design and build automated test fixtures for new product development. You will select instrumentation, define I/O, and integrate controls, safety interlocks, and data acquisition. The role involves developing test software primarily in LabVIEW or, alternatively, robust solutions using Python and C with appropriate hardware drivers and communication protocols.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain automated test fixtures.
Develop test software in LabVIEW or Python and C.
Author test plans, procedures, and automated scripts.
Contribute to peer reviews, traceability, and regression execution.
Execute and document validation activities in regulated environments.
Produce user-facing technical documentation and maintain configuration management.
Collaborate with Systems, Quality/Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with strong hardware experience.
3–6+ years of experience in test engineering or test automation in new product development.
Proficiency in LabVIEW or strong skills in Python and C.
Strong communication skills and a team-player mentality.
Ability to create clear technical documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Comfortable with Hi-Pot/dielectric testing concepts and functional safety verification practices.
Experience with medical devices and exposure to TMV/Gage R&R practices.
Fixture design/build experience, including electrical schematics, wiring, safety interlocks, and enclosure layout.
Schematic capture/PCB design, power electronics, and safety-critical testing experience.
Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
