Position Summary The
Director of Sales for Inventory Management
will lead a sales team that sells our CDK Inventory Management Solution to non‑CDK DMS clients to achieve projected sales quota and revenue growth for the year, expanding the breadth of CDK Inventory Management Solutions into new markets. Other objectives include monitoring performance, achieving financial goals, developing, motivating and counseling staff, fostering a collaborative environment, providing feedback about market conditions, and planning sales strategy quarterly to achieve fiscal year goals. The Director will also work with competitive accounts, hire and build a successful sales team, direct and manage staff performance, handle customer issues and satisfaction, and drive efforts to increase client retention.
Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Utilize sales automation tools to define market penetration.
Identify and target competitive prospects and plan strategy to increase the CDK Layers Applications and Services market share.
Execute sales strategy to systematically and consistently engage in sales processes in identified accounts and bring processes to successful closure.
Minimally achieve your annual assigned sales plan.
Utilize all resources at your disposal with particular emphasis on the inclusion of all channel partners.
Utilize salesforce.com and the sales automation tools to effectively manage a robust pipeline and provide accurate weekly forecasting to your director of sales.
Understand your competition and aggressively and proactively attack their base.
Communicate daily with channel partners, the director, and participate in all team meetings and conference calls.
Qualifications
Excellent planning, project management, analytical and facilitation skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multi‑functional team environment, with a strong track record of delivering measurable results.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to a variety of senior level audiences.
Demonstrated ability to make meaningful recommendations to senior management regarding the strategic direction of the sales organization, including the ability to make tough recommendations.
Superior analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technology applications.
Excellent work ethic, with ability to succeed in a competitive, high‑performance work environment.
Be a self‑starter, able to work independently and collaboratively.
Knowledge of automotive technology and digital solutions preferred.
Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time.
Quota at 100% or more every year.
Education / Experience
4‑year college degree or equivalent experience.
Automotive inventory solutions experience.
Automotive retail experience: either working within a dealership or selling solutions to a dealership.
Minimum 6‑8 years of related experience in leading a quota‑exceeding B2B outside sales team.
Demonstrated track record of success in a solutions‑selling environment.
7‑9 months of job‑related formal sales training.
1‑3 years of outside B2B sales including new business development.
Knowledge of automotive technology and inventory solutions.
Salary Base salary: $140,000 + Uncapped commissions.
