Introduction to the job We are seeking a
Data Analyst
who can bridge the gap between business needs and data‑driven solutions. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in creating dashboards and generating actionable insights. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, develop intuitive visualizations, and deliver insights that drive strategic decisions.
Business Engagement & Requirements Gathering
Partner with business teams to understand objectives, KPIs, and reporting needs.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data models and dashboards.
Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment.
Dashboard Development & Data Visualization
Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards using tools such as
Spotfire ,
Power BI .
Ensure dashboards are user‑friendly, visually appealing, and optimized for performance.
Implement data governance and quality checks to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Insight Generation & Analytics
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
Develop ad‑hoc reports and perform deep‑dive analyses for strategic initiatives.
Data Management & Process Improvement
Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data availability and integrity.
Continuously improve reporting processes and automate repetitive tasks.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging analytics technologies.
Education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles.
Proficiency in
SQL
and data manipulation.
Proven track record of developing dashboards and delivering insights to business stakeholders.
Technical Skills
Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
Strong knowledge of Excel and data visualization principles.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
Other information This position is located on‑site in San Diego, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in‑person work‑related events, trainings and meetings, and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
The current base annual salary range for this role is $94,125 - $156,875. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data.
Employees will receive basic benefits including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees can participate in the company’s 401(k) plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Qualifications: Access to controlled technology as defined in the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.).
