Job Description Under general supervision, performs technical work related to the storage of samples; clean‑up and maintenance of the laboratory, supplies and evidence. Assist in the gross room when needed to accession; cut frozen sections and gross surgical specimens. Under supervision, performs technical tasks and procedures to include preventative maintenance as appropriate in each assigned section.
Perform all duties in a manner consistent with current laboratory safety standards. Assist in preparing/maintaining compliance as established by regulating agencies such as CAP, TJC, OSHA, and other federal and state agencies. Additional duties include inventory and ordering of supplies, clerical tasks, telephone, and communication with laboratory customers.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science plus two years of experience in the kind of work to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Laboratory training in a laboratory approved or accredited by ABHES, CAHEA, or other agencies approved by HHS, OR, at least three months of documented laboratory training for high complexity testing.
Preferred Qualifications
Two plus (2+) years of grossing experience.
Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $82,434 - $102,521 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).
Hourly Equivalent: $39.48 - $49.10.
