Help Wanted: Assistant Executive Director (Full-Time, Hybrid) Wild Aware – Evergreen, Colorado
Responsibilities include:
Managing email, scheduling, and records
Supporting volunteer coordination and project logistics
Maintaining calendars and databases
Assisting with events, communications, and government outreach
Gradually taking on fundraising, partnership-building, and strategic leadership duties
Ideal candidate:
Has nonprofit experience; knowledge of Evergreen/Mountain Area communities is a plus
Strong organizer and communicator
Confident, collaborative, and ready to support an active volunteer-based organization
Skilled with digital tools (Google Workspace, Canva preferred)
Self-directed, reliable, and community-minded
Passionate about wildlife and motivated to grow into nonprofit leadership
1-Year Growth Path
Months 0‑4: Learn systems; manage core administrative tasks; attend Board meetings
Months 4‑12: Lead programs and communications; assume operational oversight
By 12 months: Transition into full Executive Director responsibilities
Compensation & Benefits
$42,000–$50,000 DOE
