Raytheon’s mission‑oriented environment focuses on engineering hardware for defense and space applications. Within the Hardware Engineering department, the Engineering Rapid Build Services (ERBS) team provides agile solutions to support fast‑turn fabrication and procurement projects.

This role serves as a Section Leader for the Engineering Product Execution Support Section of ERBS in Marlborough, MA. The section is comprised of Material Planners, Project Leads, and Manufacturing Engineers that support ERBS build and procurement efforts.

What You Will Do

Coordinate program staffing needs, ensuring each direct report has suitable work assignments and growth opportunities.

Provide guidance, direction, and mentoring for the Material Planner, Project Lead, and Manufacturing Engineer roles.

Document and manage processes, roles, and responsibilities of this team, collaborating on larger organizational processes.

Collaborate with the Department Leader and other ERBS Section Leaders to execute Hardware Engineering goals.

Oversee training to foster growth of direct reports and maintain/improve skillsets.

Foster teamwork and interdependent execution of tasks.

Participate in performance development processes including goal setting, performance reviews, and merit allocation.

Manage directorate and business communication flow down.

Support department hiring goals.

Review EACs for work affecting the section.

Provide technical oversight of program scope supported by the section.

Review program financial metrics.

Review proposals and support proposal activities for program growth and new pursuits.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, technology, or related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree and 7 years of relevant experience.

Experience leading teams.

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications We Prefer

Strong business acumen, communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence.

Effective oral and written communication, self‑motivated, and collaborative.

Proficiency with desktop computing tools (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).

Cross‑disciplinary interfacing and problem resolution skills.

Proven record of providing innovative solutions.

Experience with proposal writing and execution.

Thorough understanding of procurement, manufacturing processes, and MRP systems (SAP/PRISM).

Deep knowledge of Earned Value Management System and the EAC process.

Advanced degree in Manufacturing or Engineering Management.

Salary Range: 124,000 USD – 250,000 USD (good‑faith estimate for all experience levels).
