Senior Network & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Duration:
12+ months with potential extensions, but the primary intent would be to convert to FTE based on contract delivery and value addition
Location:
Walnut Creek, CA ( Hybrid-3 days/week, onsite )
We are looking for a Senior Network & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, operate, and troubleshoot hybrid networking environments spanning on-premises data centers and AWS. This role requires strong hands‑on experience with enterprise networking, cloud networking, security appliances, load balancers, and structured infrastructure documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, operate, and troubleshoot
enterprise data center networks
(L2/L3).
Hands‑on
switch configuration
(VLANs, trunking, routing, LACP, STP).
Design and support
AWS networking :
VPCs, subnets, route tables
Transit Gateway (TGW)
Site-to-Site and Client VPN
Deploy and manage
load balancers :
F5 BIG‑IP, LTM
AWS ALB and NLB
Configure and troubleshoot
FortiGate firewalls
(policies, NAT, VPN).
Support
DNS services
(forward/reverse DNS, hybrid resolution).
Perform deep
end‑to‑end troubleshooting
across on‑prem and AWS environments.
Maintain accurate
network documentation , cable sheets, IP plans, and spreadsheets.
Collaborate with DevOps and CDS teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, TLS.
Hands‑on experience with enterprise switches and firewalls.
Solid experience with AWS networking (VPC, TGW, VPN, Direct Connect).
Experience with F5 load balancers and AWS ALB/NLB.
Familiarity with NetApp storage networking.
Strong documentation and organizational skills.
CCNA-level networking knowledge required (certification preferred).
Nice to Have:
CCNP or equivalent.
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation).
Experience in large‑scale or mission‑critical environments.
Seniority level Mid‑Senior level
