Job Summary
The Vice President of Medical Affairs oversees and manages the company’s Medical Affairs department. The role provides strategic and tactical leadership of the Medical Affairs team and partners closely with cross‑functional colleagues from Commercial, Market Access, and Clinical Development, as well as Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Quality Assurance, and Research & Development. The VP ensures that Medical Affairs strategies are aligned with brand team and broader company goals, as well as patient and medical community needs.
With a strong commitment to achieving corporate objectives while maintaining the highest ethical and scientific standards, this individual will be responsible for the strategic and compliant execution of Medical Affairs functions for UroGen’s FDA‑approved products as well as products in development. The Vice President will set the vision and direction for the department, leading the team across multiple asset programs.

Job Requirements
Lead development of Medical strategy and tactics that are aligned with brand team and corporate objectives.
Directly manage and develop direct reports and broader Medical Affairs team.
Provide subject matter expertise and medical support to cross‑functional colleagues, including providing data presentations and data training as needed.
Ensure that the highest quality, scientifically and medically accurate, and fair‑balanced medical data and language are contained in all company‑generated commercial/marketing materials, scientific publications, medical information letters and responses, training materials, and other external and internal materials.
Provide medical review and final approval/rejection on all investigator‑initiated study (IIS) and independent medical education (IME) proposals.
Lead and ensure the ethical, compliant, and scientifically accurate interaction and communication of Medical Affairs team members with thought leaders, professional organizations, payers, regulatory agencies, and patient advocacy groups.
Assure appropriate, active, and strategic Medical Affairs support to the Marketing, Market Access, & Sales organizations.
Represent UroGen with external medical/scientific experts via participation in scientific congresses, medical advisory boards, and scientific exchange regarding IISs, publications, and other Medical Affairs‑related activities.
Actively develop and maintain relationships with external urology and uro‑oncology experts aligned with scientific/medical objectives.
Keep abreast of relevant current medical/scientific developments including competitive intelligence and guidelines, and inform cross‑functional colleagues of such developments as appropriate.
Lead collection, organization, and presentation of medical insights to cross‑functional colleagues and Executive Leadership Team, and incorporate insights into Medical strategy as appropriate.
Manage Medical Affairs budget.
Responsible for creation and periodic maintenance of all Medical Affairs‑related SOPs and Guidance documents.
Job Responsibilities
MD degree required.
Urology/Uro‑Oncology training preferred.
Minimum of 10 years industry experience in leadership roles in Medical Affairs required; prior Medical Affairs leadership in a biotech highly preferred.
Prior urology and/or uro‑oncology experience and related KOL network highly preferred.
Strategic thinker, problem solver, highly engaged and proactive individual who does not hesitate to “get hands dirty” in support of day‑to‑day Medical Affairs activities.
Collaborative, strategic, and positive approach to working closely with Commercial, Sales, and Market Access functions.
Compassionate, self‑aware leader who is highly focused on the development of the Medical Affairs function and colleagues at UroGen.
Superb written/verbal communication skills, including experience in presenting to senior management.
Up to 40% travel.
